Today was the first day of my five-week pre-college program at SCAD Atlanta. There were no actual classes today; instead the focus was icebreakers and getting settled. I made a few friends, and actually talked to some people. I spent some time sketching some fellow students at dinner, adding on to a sketchbook page I had started at the mall the other day.Tonight, after curfew, I completed a pre-course assignment for my print making class. The assignment was to develop concepts for a self-portrait dealing with an inanimate object. I ended up choosing a KatVonD perfume bottle as my object and began sketching. It was a good way to calm down after such an overwhelming day. It was odd though, because I have never really drawn self-portraits before. I am always drawing other people. My sketches are really rough but they were fun to make. I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have my printmaking and textile classes. I also think I am going to run by the art supply store and pick up some things. I have a lot of sketches from my recent London trip that I will post soon. Bye!
